Goddess Kaalratri, whose name translates to “Kaal” (death) and “Ratri” (night), is the most fierce and powerful form of Goddess Durga, symbolising the ultimate destroyer of darkness and evil forces. Revered during Chaitra Navratri Day 7, she represents the divine energy that eliminates fear, negativity, and all forms of darkness.

Known for her unmatched strength, Maa Kaalratri is worshipped for her ability to vanquish evil spirits, demons, and negative energies, protecting her devotees from harm. It is widely believed that sincere prayers offered to Goddess Kaalratri fulfil wishes, remove obstacles, and bring courage, positivity, and spiritual strength into one’s life.

Chaitra Navratri Day 7: Puja Rituals

Devotees take a sacred bath early in the morning.

They should light a diya with desi ghee, offer kumkum, flowers, garlands, fruits, and homemade sweets.

Recite the Durga Saptashati Path; those who are unable to do, they can recite the 108 names of Goddess Durga.

Performing hawan at home is considered auspicious.

Devotees observe the fast and they can break it in the evening by having satvik food, fruits, and dairy products.
