It was evident when the International Cricket Council (ICC) shared a video featuring some of the stars of the Indian team as build-up to the match with Pakistan on October 23 at the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
The video featured captain Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, and Yuzvendra Chahal, all raising their hand to the emblem on their chest - but no Virat Kohli.
And fans immediately let their disappointment show
"Where is King Kohli", "Oooooo paji ,Virat paji kidar he?" "Ma king ekkada", "Will ready but Incomplete without Virat Kohli", "Kohli ke bina team india zero h chahe jitna achcha khelo," said a few responses from different parts of the country.
India, the T20 World Cup winners in the inugural year of 2007, are in Group 2 of Super 12 stage in the 2022 T20 World Cup, alongside Pakistan, Bangladesh, South Africa and two qualifying sides from the first round of the tournament.
