'When you are in love, you do not really listen to anybody': Neena Gupta talks about having a child out of wedlock

Both on and off the screen, Neena Gupta has always carved out a unique place for herself. The 63-year-old passionately owns up to the fact that nothing in her life is typical or ordinary, whether it be her acting abilities or her personal life, and she makes her own decisions.

The "Badhaai Ho" actress recently spoke with Humans of Bombay about the time she was pregnant with Masaba with her then-partner, former West Indian cricketer Vivian Richards.Neena acknowledged that she had been reluctant to tell Vivian that she was pregnant or, for that matter, even that he was already married. Neena recalled that she felt both thrilled and incredibly anxious during the phone call with Vivian Richards. He expressed his support and said that he would be thrilled if she had the child when she told him the news and asked for his opinion.

The "Uunchai" actor also discussed how you don't listen to anyone when you're young. Neena claimed that she was in love, and that was all that mattered at that time, despite the fact that Vivian had already been married and she could not move in with him in Antigua.


Neena Gupta is currently happy with the success of Sooraj Barjatya's ensemble survival story, "Uunchai."
