When Rahul Gandhi asked Shah Rukh Khan for his advice to politicians? Watch the exchange

An old video of Bollywood superstar Shak Rukh Khan replying to a question from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is on the spotlight on Twitter. The event was in 2008 during NDTV’s Indian of the Year Awards ceremony. "What is one piece of advice you have towards politicians," Rahul Gandhi asked the Bollywood superstar.

Shah Rukh Khan, in his own witty style, replied: “I am glad it’s such a simple question. Look whom you asked. I lie and cheat and do deceit for a living. I am an actor. I am all show, nothing really concrete inside me.”

“I would like to say I have a huge amount of respect for people who run the country, who have it in their hearts to run the country. It’s a very selfless service. Let’s not take money under the table, let’s not do shady stuff. If we do it right we’re all going make money, we are all going to be happy, we’ll all be a great and very proud nation,” SRK continued.




“So my advice to all the politicians is, please be as honest as realistically possible,” SRK said, drawing thunderous applause from the audience.

SRK's recent release Pathaan has been a mega success. The spy-thriller, directed by Siddharth Anand has entered the Rs 500 club. The movie also saw a special cameo by Salman Khan. According to reports, SRK will also do a cameo in Tiger 3.

Time magazine has named Shah Rukh Khanamong the world's 100 most influential people of 2023. The list also includes US President Joe Biden, King Charles, billionaire CEO Elon Musk and iconic singer and artist Beyonce.

Khan's profile, written by fellow actor Deepika Padukone, said, "For someone who has known him intimately and cares for him deeply, 150 words will never do justice to the phenomenon that is Shah Rukh Khan."

Khan will be "known forever as one of the greatest actors of all time," Padukone said, adding, "But what truly sets him apart is his mind, his chivalry, his generosity. The list goes on..."
