Being an influential person has its perks and one such perk is being recognized in public, especially when you're going about your everyday life.

India's richest man, Infosys founder Narayana Murthy, and his wife Sudha Murty are both known for living a simple life. They are often seen traveling around Bengaluru in their old Maruti Alto and foregoing on private chartered jets for commercial flights.

One Twitter user recounted an old incident involving Narayana Murthy, wherein he recalled his encounter with an unassuming, co passenger who turned out to be the Infosys co-founder. Saleswah CRM CEO, Anindya Chatterjee said that he sat next to Narayana Murthy on a flight from Singapore to Hong Kong during the early 2000s.

Chatterjee said that both he and Murthy were seated in the business class section of the flight and the flight attendant failed to recognise him. To an extent she even acted rather with a certain curt demeanor, when Murthy requested that his jacket be taken away.

“NM and me was on the same flight Sin-Hkg sector. I was traveling business (upgrade) and the man on the other side of the aisle was him. Early 2000s. The airhostess didn't recognize him, in fact was brusque when he requested that his jacket be taken away,” Chatterjee tweeted on Wednesday.

Another Twitter user later joined the thread and shared their own story regarding their encounter with Narayana Murthy. The user said that in the 1990s and the early 2000s, the Infosys billionaire would often travel by economy class on the Pune-Bengaluru route. He compared the plutocrat to a 'very middle class uncle', going further to state that he in fact did not recognise him either.

Recently, author-philanthropist Sudha Murty, wife of Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy, was reportedly met with unamused responses from British immigration officials, who refused to believe that she is the mother-in-law of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Murty, who recently made an appearance at the ‘Kapil Sharma Show’, revealed that the immigration officials refused to believe her when she listed ‘10 Downing Street’ as her UK address on the form. That is the address of the British Prime Minister. “Once when I had gone, they asked me my residential address. ‘Where are you staying in London?’ My elder sister was with me, and I thought should I write '10 Downing Street'. My son also lives there (in the UK), but I didn’t remember his complete address. But I finally wrote 10 Downing Street,” she told Sharma.

The author revealed that the immigration officials were shellshocked at the address and asked her if she was joking, to which she demurely replied, “Nahi sachchi bolti hu,” (No, I am telling the truth).
