From October 24 onwards, WhatsApp won’t be supported on iPhones running on iOS 10 and iOS 11 operating systems, according to a recent update from Apple. The messaging platform has also started to notify iOS 10 and iOS 11 users that it will no longer run on them. Users will have to update their iOS to continue using the app.


According to the Whatsapp Help Centre, iPhone users will need iOS 12 or later to continue using the messaging platform.

After updating the iOS and Whatsapp, iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C users will be able to use Whatsapp. However, Whatsapp will no longer support the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, so it’s time to buy new smartphones for users of these phones to continue to use Whatsapp.

You can update the iOS version by doing Settings>General>Software update in case your iPhone is not on auto-update.

Android:

Android device users will need Android 4.1 or a later version to continue using Whatsapp.
