'What would you be thinking if you were him?' Anand Mahindra asks on video of man's narrow escape

Remember the video which went viral earlier this week in which a sidewalk caves in a split second after a man stepped off it?

That's the one industrialist Anand Mahindra tweeted on Friday with the caption," I’m going to spend the weekend trying to figure out what message the Universe was sending this man. What would you be thinking if you were him?"

The jaw-dropping CCTV footage from outside a shop shows a man walking into view on the road and then stepping onto the sidewalk. The split second he crosses the narrow sidewalk, it collapses into the dirty drain below. There is no stumbling or tentativeness in his step, which means the concrete started to crumble the second his foot was off. The video ends with the look of shock and relief on the face of the man who is a couple of feet away from the collapsed sidewalk.


Good question indeed. What would anyone in his place be thinking? And as usual, his followers had a field day trying to match his wit. "Don't be even a second late," suggested one. "Or be a few minutes late.. either way, you're saved," suggested another. "Or be a few minutes late.. either way, you're saved." suggested yet another user.
