A train journey is just not about reaching a particular destination. The whole experience including food, views makes the journey a memorable one for the passenger. Content creator Malhar recently shared a video documenting his journey from Goa to Mumbai in the First AC coach of the Duronto Express.

According to Malhar, the ticket costs around Rs 4,000. His video offered viewers a glimpse of the food served during the journey, the onboard amenities and the scenic views along the route.


He shared an Instagram post with a caption “Is the First AC experience worth ₹4,000? Watch the reel till the end and let me know your thoughts!”


What food is served in First AC on the Duronto Express?

Sharing details of the meals included in the journey, Malhar said, “If you pay a fare of Rs 4000 in Indian Railways' premium train Duronto Express's first class AC, then you will get to know what all you will get to eat and drink in this short. First, this is our breakfast,”

He showed the breakfast served to passengers, which included a vegetable cutlet, a banana, an apple drink, bread, butter, tomato ketchup and jam. He also reviewed the cutlet.

Before lunch, passengers were served hot soup. Alongside the meals, he enjoyed the scenic views along the Konkan Railway route.

Lunch and evening snacks served onboard

For lunch, the meal included rice, dry vegetables, chapati, green peas curry and dal tadka. Malhar praised the quality of the food and showed the meal being served with cutlery.

The food service continued into the evening, when passengers were offered sandwiches, tea, dry fruits, popcorn and other snacks. Hot soup was served once again after the evening refreshments.

Malhar noted that passengers travelling in First AC could request repeated servings of certain items. He mentioned having soup twice during the journey.

Dinner marks the final meal of the journey

After breakfast, lunch and evening refreshments, dinner was the final meal served before the journey came to an end. Through his video, Malhar gave viewers a glimpse of the variety of food available during the Goa-Mumbai trip, along with the onboard services and scenic views that formed part of his First AC experience on the Duronto Express.
