Anuj Agnihotri Tops UPSC Civil Services 2025
Anuj Agnihotri, a doctor from Rajasthan who topped the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025, said, “It feels very good. I’m still taking a little time to process it.” His achievement comes as the results were declared by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Friday.


Rajeshwari Suve M and Akansh Dhull secured the second and third ranks respectively, marking a competitive and impressive result for the year.


UPSC Civil Services 2025: Key Statistics

The Commission stated that a total of 958 candidates have qualified the examination and are recommended for appointment to various central civil services, including the prestigious Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and Indian Police Service (IPS).

The candidature of 348 recommended candidates has been kept provisional, pending further verification, according to the official UPSC statement.

The civil services examination is conducted annually in three rigorous stages:
  • Preliminary Examination
  • Main Examination
  • Interview
This structured process ensures that only the most capable candidates are selected for India’s central civil services.

Vacancies and Candidate Support

The Government of India had reported 1,087 vacancies to be filled through the 2025 civil services examination.

To assist candidates, UPSC maintains a facilitation counter near its examination hall. Candidates can seek information or clarifications regarding examinations and recruitment between 10 am and 5 pm on working days, either in person or via telephone at 23385271, 23381125, or 23098543.

Additionally, marks for the examination will be made available on the official UPSC website within 15 days of the result declaration.
