Kolkata rain chances tomorrow
The IMD has issued an orange alert and warned of rain in Kolkata, which could be accompanied by gusty wind, lightning and thunderstorms. "Light to moderate thundershower may occur at most places over East & West Burdwan, Bankura, West Midnapore, Hooghly, Howrah, Kolkata, North & South 24 Parganas districts and many places over the rest districts of South Bengal with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty wind one or two places over East & West Burdwan, Bankura, West Midnapore, Hooghly, Howrah, Kolkata, North & South 24 Parganas districts," said a special IMD bulletin for Wednesday.ALSO READ: Delhi, Noida, Gurugram to get relief from scorching heat today as IMD forecasts a sharp change
Though nor'wester spells occur mainly towards evenings or nights, the IMD said that Kolkata is also likely to get one or two bouts of rain on Tuesday too. The temperature is also expected to go down today, making the weather tolerable.
Kolkata has gone over 10 days without a nor’wester spell. Although temperatures touched a season high of 36.8°C five days ago, they have since been gradually declining. In the past few days, a few districts have received spells of thundershowers, indirectly helping the city get relief from the humid, sauna-like conditions.

May 2: Cloudy sky with intermittent rain/thunderstorm activity; humid conditions persist.
May 3: Partly cloudy sky with chances of isolated showers and gusty winds.
May 4: Partly cloudy conditions; reduced rainfall, but humidity remains.
