"We'll be waiting...": Shoaib Akhtar ahead of India vs England T20 World Cup 2nd semifinal match

India is playing England today in the second semifinal match in the ongoing T20 world cup. Pakistan has already won its match in the first semifinal match against New Zeland. Pakistan easily defeated the Kiwis and advanced to the final.

Meanwhile, ahead of the India-England clash, Pakistani legendary pacer Shoaib Akhtar issued a statement saying that the Pakistani team will be waiting for the Indian team in the finals.

Akhtar wished luck to India ahead of the match as well.


"Dear India, good luck for tomorrow. "We'll be waiting for you in Melbourne for a great game of cricket," he tweeted along with a video message in which he said that he wants another T20 world cup final match between the two countries.


India has won five out of six matches against Pakistan in the history of T20 world cup so far.

In the 2007 T20 World Cup final, India defeated Pakistan to lift the cup.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's Matthew Hayden has also said that he is hoping to play against archrivals India in the final and said that the Men in Green are yet to play their best, which is probably the scarier part for whoever faces them in the final.

Former Test captain Shahid Afridi said it would be "a dream come true" to have a Pakistan vs. India final on Sunday at the MCG.

Former Pakistani Test spinner Iqbal Qasim also said despite the intense rivalry, there had always been a healthy respect for each others' cricket history and performances.

"I will also support India to beat England because there is nothing like a match between the two countries and I should know as I have played in some of them," he said.
