Weather tomorrow, July 16: The Shimla Meteorological Centre has issued an orange alert for very heavy rainfall at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh on July 20 and 21.

It has predicted thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds in many parts of the country, while Delhi-NCR is likely to witness cloudy skies with the possibility of very light rain.
According to the IMD, the rain activity is likely to continue over several regions for the next few days, with Shimla issuing an orange alert for very heavy rainfall later this week.

Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon weather tomorrow
For Delhi-NCR, the IMD has forecast cloudy skies throughout Thursday with the possibility of very light rain. "There is a possibility of very light rain throughout the day, along with cloudy skies," an IMD official told news agency PTI. For Noida and Gurgaon, the IMD has issued a yellow alert for tomorrow and has predicted partly cloudy skies.While no heavy rainfall warning has been issued, hot and humid conditions are likely to continue over Delhi, Haryana and Punjab.
Odisha under red warning as Bay of Bengal low-pressure area forms
The IMD has issued a red warning for Puri and Jagatsinghpur districts after a low-pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal off the north Odisha-West Bengal coast.According to the weather department, the system developed around 5.30 am on Wednesday under the influence of an upper air cyclonic circulation and is expected to move across north Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal over the next two days.
Heavy rain has already affected several districts, including Puri, where fire service personnel were deployed to drain water from roads ahead of the annual Rath Yatra.
The IMD has also issued an orange warning for:

- Khurdha
- Cuttack

A yellow warning has been issued for Balasore, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Balangir, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Rayagada and Gajapati.
Shimla weather: Orange alert issued
The Shimla Meteorological Centre has issued an orange alert for very heavy rainfall at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh on July 20 and 21.The Met office has also predicted a wet spell across the state till July 21, raising concerns over possible landslides, flash floods and travel disruptions in hilly areas.
North India weather forecast
Rainfall is expected to continue over the western Himalayan region.Uttarakhand remains under a heavy rain forecast.
Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh are likely to receive scattered rainfall over the coming days, with heavier spells possible later this week.
East India weather forecast
East India is expected to remain one of the wettest regions.
Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal may receive very heavy rainfall.Bihar, Jharkhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim are likely to witness heavy rain.
Thunderstorms are also expected in parts of Bihar and Jharkhand.
Northeast India weather forecast
The IMD has forecast widespread rainfall across:

- Assam
- Meghalaya
- Nagaland
- Manipur
- Mizoram
- Tripura
Heavy rainfall is expected to continue across much of the region over the next few days.
Central and West India weather forecast
Parts of Madhya Pradesh may experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds.Rain is also likely over:
- Chhattisgarh
- Gujarat
- Central Maharashtra
- Marathwada
- Saurashtra
- Kutch
- Konkan and Goa
South India weather forecast
Rain activity is expected across:- Kerala
- Karnataka
- Telangana
- Andhra Pradesh
- Tamil Nadu
- Puducherry
- Karaikal
- Lakshadweep
Thunderstorms with gusty winds are likely in parts of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana.
IMD's latest weather outlook
The IMD said heavy rainfall is likely to continue over parts of east, northeast and northwest India during the next three to four days, while rain activity is also expected over central and southern parts of the country.Meanwhile, hot and humid weather may persist over parts of Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
The weather department has advised people in areas under heavy rain alerts to remain cautious due to the risk of waterlogging, reduced visibility, traffic disruptions and localized flooding.
