During the past week, India witnessed widespread monsoon activity triggered by the season's first depression over the northwest Bay of Bengal, which later weakened into a well-marked low-pressure area over central India. The system brought extremely heavy rainfall to parts of Odisha and widespread heavy rain across Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala and several northeastern states.
With the monsoon now covering the entire country and multiple weather systems remaining active, the IMD expects wet conditions to continue across many regions on July 10, particularly over northern, eastern and western coastal states.
