The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that rainfall in May is expected to be above normal across most parts of the country, except for some areas in east, northeast, and east-central India where below-normal rainfall is likely.

Delhi Weather Today

Rain and thunderstorms lashed parts of Delhi NCR on Saturday night, providing much-needed respite from the scorching heat that had gripped the region over the past few days. Dark clouds rapidly built up over the national capital and surrounding areas, with rainfall reported in several locations, including the Delhi–Noida border. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the next two days, cautioning residents about possible rain and thunderstorms.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature today is likely to hover between 36°C and 38°C, while the minimum is expected to range from 26°C to 28°C. The yellow alert issued for the next two days points to the possibility of weather disturbances. Meanwhile, the city’s air quality remained in the moderate category.


Kerala Weather Today

The weather department has issued a yellow alert for districts in Kerala, cautioning about heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds over the coming days. Districts including Kollam, Pathanamthitta, and Alappuzha are expected to receive heavy showers.

Jammu and Kashmir Weather Today

Jammu and Kashmir will continue to receive rain/snow with thunderstorms.

In Northeast India, widespread rainfall continues across all states, including Assam and Meghalaya, where heavy showers are expected to persist.

In South India, rainfall activity is set to continue across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. Heavy showers are expected particularly over Tamil Nadu and Kerala, along with thunderstorms and gusty winds.

In East India, West Bengal and Sikkim are likely to experience continued widespread rainfall, along with thunderstorms and strong winds. Meanwhile, Bihar, Odisha, and Jharkhand are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms.
