The weather department said the fresh western disturbance has already started influencing weather patterns across northwest India, including Delhi.
Delhi-NCR weather today
The national capital is seeing a mild winter day, with minimum temperatures hovering near 13°C, while daytime highs are expected to touch 23–25°C. Light winds and stable conditions are keeping the air crisp but comfortable. Delhi has already felt the impact of multiple western disturbances this month. The Safdarjung weather station recorded 25.4 mm of rainfall in January, around 38% more than the long-period average of 18.4 mm for the month.
Delhi temperature today
The minimum temperature dropped to 6.7°C on Saturday, one degree below normal. This marked a further fall from Friday’s minimum of 7.7°C. However, IMD said cloud cover on Sunday could push night temperatures up.“The minimum temperature is expected to be around 10-12°C on Sunday and 11-13°C on Monday. It is likely to fall again to around 7-9°C by Thursday,” the IMD official cited above said.
January has seen sharp swings in night temperatures, including four days of cold wave conditions earlier this month. The maximum temperature on Saturday stood at 21.5°C, about 0.8 degrees below normal, and is expected to dip to 17–19°C on Sunday.
Gurgaon weather today
Gurgaon is likely to see light to moderate rainfall on Sunday under the IMD’s yellow alert. The city may experience thunderstorms and lightning, accompanied by gusty winds of 30–40 kmph. Cloudy skies are expected to dominate through the day. A change in wind pattern could push up minimum temperatures by 3–4 degrees Celsius, while daytime temperatures may dip by 2–4 degrees due to rain and cloud cover.Noida weather today
Noida is expected to witness a partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers. IMD has placed the city under a yellow alert, warning of thunderstorms and gusty winds. The minimum temperature is likely to hover around 10°C, while the maximum temperature may remain near 16°C. Cloudy and wet conditions could make the day cooler than usual.Ghaziabad weather today
Ghaziabad is also likely to experience partly cloudy conditions with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers on Sunday. The city remains under a yellow alert issued by IMD. The minimum temperature is expected to be around 11°C, while the maximum temperature may touch 16°C. IMD withdrew the “yellow alert” issued for Saturday afternoon after no rainfall was recorded, despite forecasts suggesting very light rain. The department said shallow to moderate fog is likely to persist during morning hours through the early part of next week.Delhi AQI: Air back in ‘very poor’
Delhi’s air quality worsened again on Saturday, slipping back into the “very poor” category. The city’s 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) stood at 315 at 4 pm, compared with 253 at the same time on Friday, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).Forecasts by the Air Quality Early Warning System for Delhi (AQEWS) suggest air quality will stay in the very poor category from Sunday through Thursday. “The outlook for the subsequent six days suggests air quality will fluctuate between very poor and poor,” the AQEWS bulletin issued on Saturday evening said.
