IMD weather alert for July 6 and July 7
According to the IMD, extremely heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Gujarat, Konkan, Goa and parts of central Maharashtra.Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected over:

Delhi is likely to experience cloudy skies, intermittent rain, thunderstorms, and lightning on July 6 and July 7. The IMD has also warned of heavy rainfall at isolated locations in the national capital." Generally cloudy sky. Neighbouring Haryana and Punjab are expected to witness similar weather conditions as monsoon activity strengthens across northwest India. Residents are advised to be cautious during thunderstorms and avoid waterlogged areas during periods of intense rainfall.
Gujarat and Maharashtra face intense monsoon spell
Western India remains one of the most affected regions.The IMD has forecast heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over:
- Gujarat Region
- Saurashtra and Kutch
- Konkan and Goa
- Madhya Maharashtra
Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh weather forecast
Monsoon conditions remain highly active across central India. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected over East and West Madhya Pradesh, while Chhattisgarh is likely to receive widespread rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms.The IMD has also warned of moderate to intense lightning activity over parts of Madhya Pradesh. Some districts could experience localized flooding due to persistent rainfall.
Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on rain watch
Rainfall activity is expected to increase across northwestern and Himalayan states.Heavy rainfall is likely over:

People living in hilly regions should remain alert for landslides, falling debris and flash flood-like situations in vulnerable areas.
Odisha, Bihar and eastern India weather update
Odisha remains under a significant rainfall alert, with heavy to very heavy rainfall expected in several districts.Heavy rain is also likely over:

Northeast India likely to receive widespread rain
The monsoon is expected to remain active across northeastern states.Heavy rainfall is likely over:

- Mizoram
- Tripura
South India weather: Kerala and Karnataka under heavy rain alert
Southern states are also expected to witness active monsoon conditions.Heavy to very heavy rainfall is forecast over:
- Kerala and Mahe
- Coastal Karnataka
- North Interior Karnataka
- South Interior Karnataka
The IMD has warned that some coastal and interior Karnataka districts could receive very heavy rainfall during this period.
Southwest monsoon continues to advance
The IMD said conditions remain favourable for the further advance of the southwest monsoon into more parts of the north Arabian Sea, Gujarat, remaining areas of Haryana and Punjab, and additional parts of Rajasthan over the next few days.The weather agency expects active monsoon conditions to persist across large parts of India through the coming week, bringing widespread rainfall to northern, western, central, eastern and southern regions.
