Rain forecast across Karnataka
According to the weather department, rainfall is likely in northern and coastal parts of Karnataka, including Malnad, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Kasaragod, Dharwad and Belagavi districts until March 21. Summer showers are also expected in parts of Hassan, Chikkamagaluru and Shivamogga districts.Widespread rains were reported across several regions of the state on Monday, including Bengaluru, Dharwad, Belagavi, Haveri, Bagalkot, Vijayanagar, Koppal and Raichur.

Relief after 15 days of intense heat
In Bengaluru, the weather turned pleasant after nearly two weeks of scorching heat. Cloudy skies and light winds were recorded since Monday morning, with rainfall reported in several areas during the night, including Mysore Road, Nayandahalli, Vijayanagar, Deepanjali Nagar, Hosakerehalli and Rajarajeshwari Nagar.The meteorological department said light to moderate rain is likely in the city for the next three days. Temperatures in Bengaluru are expected to hover around a maximum of 32°C and a minimum of 19°C during this period.
Flooding reported in Belagavi
Moderate rain in Belagavi caused waterlogging on several roads after showers lasting more than an hour led to flooding in parts of the city.Residents alleged that clogged rainwater drainage systems worsened the situation and urged authorities to repair and clean the drainage infrastructure ahead of the monsoon season.
