India's famous sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik paid a rich tribute to Shinzo Abe, former prime minister of Japan, by creating a his huge sand portrait at Puri beach.

Pattnaik also wrote a heartfelt note remembering Abe as a great friend of India. He stated that the world was going to miss him forever.

He took to Twitter to express his grief, "Deeply saddened to know about the demise of former Japanese PM Shinzo Abe. He was a great friend of India and played a key role in strengthening the Indo-Japan bond. My sand art at Puri beach in India with the message We will miss you "Tribute to Shinzo Abe."


Shinzo Abe passed away on July 8. He was shot while delivering a campaign speech in Nara city of Japan. His death stunned many people, and the assassination sent shockwaves around the country and world. People are giving tributes and condolences on social media for Japan's longest-serving prime minister.
