A man from California has been arrested for causing a disturbance on a Frontier Airlines flight bound for San Francisco. Charles Angel Salva, aged 30, may face up to 20 years in federal prison. He assaulted the crew and threatened to kill everyone onboard. This incident reportedly occurred earlier this month.

Federal prosecutors revealed that Salva tampered with the oxygen masks in the overhead compartments. A witness mentioned that Salva seemed out of breath and wanted to get off the plane. When he pulled down the oxygen masks, his hand got stuck, and a fellow passenger helped him.

Salva then verbally abused a flight attendant, saying, "This airplane is going down, we are all going to hell." Panic erupted when Salva grabbed a fellow passenger and ran to the back of the plane. He tried to choke a flight attendant, leaving marks on her neck, and threatened to kill everyone on the flight.

The crew managed to restrain Salva using a seatbelt, during which he kicked another attendant multiple times, causing injuries. The flight was diverted to Ontario as the crew felt unsafe.

Reports indicated that Salva was traveling home with his 3-year-old daughter after a weekend trip to Southern California. He had vanished during the trip and was found by police at a liquor store, covered in sewage.

Salva admitted to investigators that he planned to kill everyone on the plane. He confessed to molesting his child and losing custody rights. “Salva said that, during the flight, he thought everyone was trying to get him to admit his crimes, so he tried to pull the emergency flight button so the plane would crash,” stated the affidavit.

The affidavit further mentioned, “Salva said that he assaulted the flight attendants because he did not want anyone to know he was a pedophile. Salva said that he heard voices saying words that triggered thoughts of him being a pedophile.”
