Video clips from the Gabba nets showed Kohli, one of the modern cricketing greats, training alongside Pakistan batting stalwarts Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.
That is a lot of talent in one frame. Pakistan captain Babar Azam is currently No.3 in the ICC T20 batting rankings and No.1 in the ODI rankings. Wicketkeeper Rizwan is the world No.1 in T20I rankings.
Kohli can be seen facing a lot of short balls hurled at him as part of his preparation for the bouncier Australian pitches. Azam, in the middle of his batting practice, could been glancing in the direction of Kohli.
The sight of Kohli and Azam training alongside each other caught the attention of cricket lovers across the world.

The first instance was seen in the 2019 ICC World Cup when a young Azam walked up to Kohli and asked for advice. The ace Indian batter had some nice words about him.
At the Asia Cup tournament last month the two were seen exchanging pleasantries. Azam who has been in peak form this year also publicly backed Kohli who in the three years leading to the tournament was having a very rough run.
Kohli scored 19 of 13 balls before being caught in the deep in the warm-up match against Australia. He was however brilliant in the field, running out big-hitter Tim David in the penultimate over and taking a leaping one-handed screamer near the ropes at long on to send back Pat Cummins in the final over.
