Watch: This lap shot by Sachin Tendulkar is going viral, fans say class is permanent

For cricket fans who miss the glorious days he set stadiums alight with his dazzling stroke play, this is a bit of nostalgia time.

Sachin Tendulkar, 49, is seen unleashing some of his famous shots of yesteryears in video clips from a recent match between Indian Legends and New Zealand Legends at the Road Safety World Series 2022.


Only 5.5 over were possible before rain stopped play in the match played at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore, but Tendulkar raced to 19 of 13 balls with the help of four well-struck boundaries.

One of them, a lap shot he played off former New Zealand quickie Kyle Mills, is especially becoming a Twitter favourite.

The ball from Mills was only fractionally short of a length around the off stump, but Tebndulkar takes a big stride across with his front foot and laps it around to the deep backward square leg fence.

The lap shot, is nowadays a T20 staple, and many fans started wondering what more Tendulkar would have done if he played a lot of 20 overs cricket in his prime.

" Age is just a number.. Class is permanent," commented a user. "His every shot(s) are so damn precise...again what am I saying here man!!! he is GOD & those have to be perfect," said another.

There is also another video clip which has all his boundaries: a glorious backfoot cover drive off Mills, a ferocious pull off a Shane Bond bouncer, the lap shot off Mills and a scoop off Jacob Oram. All boundaries the moment they left the bat.

A lot of batsmen around the world do play these shots, but then there is a certain precision, style and class when the Master Blaster plays them.
