Wearing a track suit and a cap, with a mask covering his face, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav conducted surprise checks at government hospitals in Patna and the video of this is a big hit.

Doctors at government hospitals were in a daze when they realised it was none other than the deputy CM who came calling at their hospitals past midnight.

Tejashwi, who holds the Health portfolio, was visibly unhappy about the unclean premises, insufficient medicines, and the general apathy at work by those on duty.


Notably, the health department had remained with the BJP for the entire period Nitish Kumar remained an NDA ally.

Nitish Kumar is away in Delhi for meeting Opposition leaders, and 33-year-old Tejashwi showed that he was very much in charge of the administration.

The hospitals where the deputy CM conducted surprise checks included PMCH, the state's largest government health facility, apart from hospitals at Gardiner Road and Gardani Bagh, PTI reported.

The clips of his visits played on TV channels drew parallels to the hero of Nayak, the 2001 Anil Kapoor starrer which is about a CM shaking up the system.
