RPF viral video
A Railway Protection Force (RPF) officer has been accused of trying to push a passenger out of a train, after a video of the incident went viral on social media. The video shows the officer slapping a young man and forcing him towards the open door, while fellow passengers raise objections.

The viral video

The footage, widely shared on X (formerly Twitter), shows the officer confronting a man alleged to be travelling without a ticket. Instead of issuing a fine or removing him at the next station, the officer is seen dragging him towards the train’s exit. Passengers can be heard pleading with the officer to stop.

One X user wrote: “If the boy is travelling without a ticket, then fine him, or make him get off at the next station. But why throw him off a moving train? Wearing a uniform doesn’t make you God.” The post has drawn thousands of reactions, with many demanding strict action from the Railway Ministry and the RPF.

RPF’s statement

Following the public uproar, the RPF in Delhi released an official statement. It said that the constable seen in the video has been shifted to the RPF Reserve Line at Daya Basti and that a divisional-level inquiry is underway.

According to the statement, the incident took place on August 18, 2025, at Delhi Sarai Rohilla station. The train involved, 22482, had stopped after an alarm chain pulling. The RPF claims that the constable only tried to remove the man from the train after he failed to provide identification details. The force further clarified that the train was standing at the platform at the time, and the allegation of pushing a passenger from a moving train was incorrect.

Public reaction

Despite the RPF’s clarification, many social media users have continued to question the officer’s conduct. They argue that even if the passenger had pulled the chain or was travelling without a ticket, the officer’s aggressive handling was unjustified.

The inquiry into the matter is still in progress. The RPF has said that appropriate action will be taken once the investigation is complete.
