Watch: Rahul Gandhi takes a push-up challenge during Bharat Jodo Yatra

Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra has produced many interesting videos and photographs, and this is one of them.

A 15-second video clip called the 'Push-Up Challenge' shared on Tuesday showed Gandhi along with a local boy, Karnataka unit chief DK Shivakumar, and party General Secretary KC Venugopal doing pushups on the road.

While Gandhi can be seen in the video keeping excellent form while doing his push-ups, Shivakumar gave up soon and Venugopal hardly got up a few inches from the ground through the duration of the challenge. The boy, who was seen in another video showing off his biceps to Gandhi, looked fit and fresh for a few more.


Projecting Rahul Gandhi not just as a compassionate leader, but also a youthful and physically fit one seems to be the brief. Another recent video from his team showed Gandhi jogging along with Shivakumar who has the national flag in his hands.

Congress's nationwide padyatra campaign began in Tamil Nadu's Kanyakumari on September 7 and passed through Kerala before entering Karnataka on September 30.

The 34th day of the yatra on Tuesday started at 7.30 AM from Harthikote, an hour late due to heavy rains. However the Padayatris reached the morning halt at Sanikere after walking 14 km according to schedule.

As Gandhi started walking in the morning from Harthikote, some children ran ahead of him and also met him. He later also met some school children on the way, who waited for quite some time along the roads clad in their uniforms to meet him.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra also stopped for a few minutes in the evening to pay homage to Samajwadi party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.
