Watch: MP govt official selected under disabled quota raises doubts over MPPSC selection after dance video goes viral
A students' organisation in Madhya Pradesh has called for an investigation into Priyanka Kadam's selection under the disabled quota after videos of her dancing surfaced online. Kadam, who has a 45% disability from a hip injury, asserts her implant...

Why is there controversy?
Radhe Jat, a leader of the National Educated Youth Union, questioned Kadam’s disability claim. He stated that she had appeared for the State Service Examination 2022 conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) and was selected as a district excise officer under the disabled quota. However, after videos of her dancing surfaced on social media, he demanded a re-evaluation of all selected candidates by AIIMS Bhopal doctors.Kadam strongly denied any irregularity in her selection. "I come from an ordinary background, and I have achieved my position in life by struggling hard," she told PTI.
She explained that she suffered a serious hip injury in 2017 after falling in a bathroom. An MRI revealed she had 'avascular necrosis,' a condition where bone tissues die due to poor blood supply. She underwent four surgeries and has 45 percent disability.
Kadam clarified that while she can walk and dance for a short time, it is due to implants from her surgeries. "I may look like a normal woman at a first glance, but it is because of implants installed during a complex surgery that I am able to walk, and can even dance for five to ten minutes, as suggested by the doctors. But I also have to take painkillers at times," she said.
MPPSC officials have not commented on the issue. Meanwhile, Kadam continues her current role as an assistant audit officer in the treasury and accounts department in Ujjain. Though she has been selected as a district excise officer, her appointment is still pending due to government procedures.
