Watch: Monalisa visits MP, draws thousands eager to see Kumbh’s viral garland seller; police called to manage crowd

Monalisa, who went viral for selling garlands during the Prayagraj Kumbh, reached Pichore in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district on Wednesday evening. A large crowd gathered to see her, forcing local police to step in and maintain order, a NBT report stated. Monalisa, now working in films, stayed at the local rest house for about one and a half hours before leaving for Etawah in Uttar Pradesh to shoot for her upcoming movie.

Monalisa viral girl: From Kumbh to cinema

Monalisa first gained public attention when her videos from Prayagraj Kumbh went viral. She is now acting in films. This was her first visit to Pichore. She arrived at the rest house around 5:30 pm, and soon after, news of her arrival spread quickly, drawing a large crowd outside the premises.

Supporters of MLA Pritam Lodhi spread the word

As per NBT report, the news was widely shared on social media by supporters of local MLA Pritam Lodhi. As the crowd grew, police were deployed to manage the situation. Many locals gathered near the rest house to catch a glimpse of Monalisa. After a brief stay, she left the town by car. According to reports, she had reached Pichore via Maheshwar in Indore.

NBT report quoting sources said Monalisa came to Pichore through her contact with Mahendra Lodhi, who is associated with the film industry. Mahendra Lodhi is also connected with local political leaders, including MLA Pritam Lodhi. Though the MLA was not present in Pichore.

Heading to Etawah for ‘Manipur Diary’

After her short visit, Monalisa departed for Etawah where she will begin work on her next film, Manipur Diary. The film is being directed by Sanoj Mishra, who was recently released from jail. Police intervention was required once again as Monalisa prepared to leave due to the large crowd gathered outside. She left the rest house after staying there for over an hour.
