India defeated Pakistan by 61 runs in a one-sided T20 World Cup clash at the R. Speaking to ABP News soon after the match, Akhtar did not hold back. He questioned the leadership at the top of Pakistan cricket and blamed the board for the team’s current struggles.

"One guy who does not know anything has become the Pakistan Cricket Board's chairman. What can you do? How will the team run?" he said.

He also criticised the system for promoting underperforming players, saying, "You have made a superstar out of a player who cannot win you a game."

Akhtar added that wrong appointments have damaged Pakistan cricket over time. "The biggest crime in the world is to give a particular job to incompetent people."

He even called Naqvi "incompetent and 'jaahil'" and said he was not fit to lead the board.

As Pakistan’s chase fell apart, Mohsin Naqvi, who also serves as Pakistan’s Interior Minister, was seen leaving the R. Premadasa Stadium before the match ended.

A video showing Naqvi leaving in a black car has been widely shared on social media. While there is no official explanation for his early departure, it came at a time when Pakistan were losing wickets quickly during the chase.

India crushes Pakistan with dominant bat and ball performance

India posted a competitive total of 175/7, built around a fluent 77 from Ishan Kishan. Useful contributions from Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube added to the total.

Pakistan’s reply never got going. The team crashed to 13/3 within two overs, with Babar Azam dismissed early. Though Usman Khan tried to fight back with 44 off 34 balls, wickets kept falling at regular intervals.
