Watch: Indian pacer Mohammed Shami shares bowling tips with Shaheen Afridi

Indian pacer Mohammed Shami can be seen giving tips on maintaining perfect seam position to Pakistan bowling spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi in a video that is going viral on Twitter.

The video tweeted by the Pakistan Cricet board on Monday showed the players exchanging pleasantries during the net sessions at the Gabba in Brisbane.

"How are you Shami bhai," Afridi, who is making a return to the Pakistan team after a layoff due to injury, asks the veteran India pacer.


Afridi could be heard telling Shami that he has always been a fan of him, especially of his wrist position and upright seam - two things that are helpful in swinging the ball around.

Shami is heard listening to the Pak pacer, and then taking the ball in his left hand to mimic the left hander's bowling action

"If the point of release (of the ball) is fine, the seam ( position) will be fine too," he tells him.

Shami, who is in Brisbane to join the Indian World Cup squad in place of the injured Jasprit Bumrah, had a fantastic start in the warm-up game against Australia. Bowling the last over, he grabbed three wickets and prevented Australia from scoring the 11 runs needed for a win.

Afridi, who missed the Asia Cup and the seven-match T20I series due to a knee injury, is playing the warm-up match against England on Tuesday.

PCB also shared a video clip of the left-arm quick running in full tilt to bowl in the nets.

The return of Afridi strengthens the Pakistan pace department, with the likes of Haris Rauf, who has experience playing in Australia's T20 Big Bash League, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Wasim and Mohammad Hasnain all expected to be a stiff challenge on bouncy Australian pitches.

Both India and Pakistan begin their T20 World Cup campaign with a highly-anticipated clash on Sunday at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
