Kota theft news
A late-night burglary attempt in Rajasthan’s Kota turned into a bizarre spectacle when a thief got stuck in an exhaust fan hole while trying to enter a house. The incident happened in the Borkheda police station area, where alert homeowners and neighbours helped the police catch one accused. His accomplice managed to flee, a NBT report stated. Police have arrested the accused and begun further investigation. According to the house owner, “Khatu Shyam saved us from thieves.”

Thieves entered thinking the house was empty

The incident took place in Kota’s Pratap Nagar area on the night of January 4. Around 12:50 am, two men arrived in a car and surveyed the locality. Believing one house to be locked and vacant, they planned to commit theft. One of them attempted to enter the house through the kitchen by squeezing himself into the exhaust fan opening.

Homeowners return and sense trouble

Around 1 am, house owner Subhash Ahir returned home with his wife after visiting Khatu Shyamji. As his wife unlocked the main gate and stepped inside, they heard unusual noises coming from the kitchen. Sensing something was wrong, they went inside to check.

Thief found stuck halfway in kitchen wall

The couple was shocked to find a man stuck in the exhaust fan hole. Part of his body was inside the kitchen, while the rest remained outside the house. The thief struggled to free himself but could not move. Seeing the homeowners, the second accused panicked and ran away from the spot.

Neighbours and police work for an hour to rescue him

Subhash Ahir raised an alarm, drawing the attention of neighbours. Local residents and police worked together for nearly an hour to pull the trapped thief out of the exhaust fan hole.

Based on Subhash Ahir’s complaint, Borkheda police registered a case and arrested the accused. Police also seized the car used in the attempted burglary. The vehicle reportedly had a white curtain and a police sticker pasted on it.
