The refreshment facility, managed by local Monpa women, was inaugurated at Zemithang in Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday. The Café is not just an average roadside eatery; it's the very first of its kind in the entire Northeast, built by transforming a bridge into a beautiful place for hanging out.

A video of the scenic Border Brew Cafe was shared by the MyGov Arunachal Pradesh handle on X (formerly Twitter). The cafe has been developed under the banner of Operation Sadbhavna, the Indian Army's initiative to foster trust and development in remote areas. In a remarkable achievement, the Indian Army completed the construction of this project in just 31 days. What makes it extra special is that it's constructed atop a decommissioned Bailey Bridge spanning the scenic Ngyamjang Chu river. The post, which includes a short video, gives a glimpse of the setup, explains how this unique spot is designed to do double duty: lend a helping hand to nearby communities while giving tourism in Arunachal a solid boost.

The Tawang district public relations officer, in a post on X, said: "A first in Northeast India, Border Brew Cafe at Jemithang — an inspiring initiative by the @adgpi under OpSadbhavna — is now OPEN. Built on a decommissioned Bailey bridge over the Ngyamjang Chu. Empowering Monpa communities and boosting local livelihoods."
