Watch: Heavy rains turn Hyderabad roads into rivers, bikes and autos swept away

It has been raining heavily in Hyderabad over the last few days with flooding and heavy waterlogging in many parts of the city.

Moderate to heavy rains lashed northern and western parts of the city till late into Wednesday night, TOI reported.

One of the worst-hit in the subsequent flooding were the slum clusters of Borabanda and nearby areas, with the narrow bylanes there turning into rivers.


People posted pictures of motorbikes getting washed away in the flow. One such video showed a man on a motorbike in Borabanda nearly getting washed away in the torrent.

The man and his bike fell down, but while he was pulled to safety by some of the local residents watching from the sides, his vehicle was swept downstream.

Another video showed autorickshaws floating downstream in the flowing waters in Borabanda and Yusufguda areas.

The rain started as a trickle in the evening and turned into a heavy downpour in the night, causing severe hardships to those commuting back home from work.
RC Puram received 7.6 cm till 10 pm, Balanagar recorded 5.1 cm, and Uppal, Malkajgiri, Kapra and LB Nagar also received heavy rainfall.


Just a few days ago, Tolichowki and Nadeem Colony in Hyderabad witnessed waterlogging after incessant heavy rainfall. Khiratabad, Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Madhapur, ki, and Gachibowli too were waterlogged.
