News agency reports said around 700 passengers were left stranded as the German airline cancelled the two flights because of a one-day strike by its pilots.
One flight was scheduled to depart at 1.10 am with 400 passengers and the other was scheduled to depart at 2.50 am for Frankfurt with 300 passengers.
Videos from the airport which were circulated showed passengers gathered around and shouting for a refund.

Outside, on the main road in front of Gate no 1, relatives and family members of the stranded passengers gathered and demanded alternate arrangements.
The crowd was agitated and caused a traffic jam even after they were told that the cancellations came without prior notice. They were later pacified by the CISF and the airport staff.
Lufthansa cancelled 800 of its flights from the main bases of Frankfurt and Munich after the strike for better pay called by the labour union Vereinigung Cockpit (VC).
The VC union is demanding a 5.5% pay rise this year and automatic inflation compensation thereafter. It's also demanding better terms for entry-level pilots.
Lufthansa has said it is working to normalise the situation, and that there would be "isolated cancellations or delays" on Saturday and Sunday.
