Watch: Burglars steal 25 OnePlus smartphones from Ludhiana showroom

A OnePlus mobile phone showroom in Ludhiana was reportedly burgled during the wee hours of September 19. The store is located in Flamez Mall on Malhar road. The thieves stole about 25 or 26 smartphones worth Rs 6 lakh.

After the incident was reported, police officials carried out an inspection of the site.

During the investigation, it was found that the showroom did not have a shutter and its main entrance had a thick glass door.


According to media reports, the glass door was usually barred with an iron chain at night.

As per the showroom staff, the security of the store was provided by the management of the mall.

The five guards, responsible for the security, were found asleep at the time of the burglary, reports said.

Now the video of the incident has been shared on the Instagram page '1000thingsinludhiana' with the caption saying, "The incident happened at a OnePlus store located on Malhar road Ludhiana. 26 smartphones worth 6 lakh are said to be taken away by the burglars. (CCTV video)"

One Instagram user wondered whether the security provided was enough and asked, "It's 2022 and we don't have motion detection alarms in stores…????"

On a lighter note, some even demanded a OnePlus mobile phone.

Meanwhile, premium smartphone maker OnePlus said that it will launch its first smartwatch under the Nord brand in India soon. The company had previously launched smartband and smartwatch under the OnePlus flagship brand.

"The Nord Watch will bolster OnePlus Nord's hold within the wearables segment and aims to make the signature OnePlus technology accessible to a wider set of audience," OnePlus said.
