Endowments minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy along with the R&B minister were attending the inauguration of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha temple near Kolimigundla.
The public was stopped from entering the temple while the ministers were inside the premises. Madana Bhoopal Reddy was among the crowd of onlookers. When he tried to move forward, he was stopped by the police and an altercation broke out. Amid the fight, Bhoopal Reddy slapped an on-duty armed reserve constable, identified as Jaswanth, in a fit of rage.
Meanwhile, Janardhan Reddy called it as an "unfortunate incident" and stated that he asked the police to book a case and arrest those responsible.
"This govt will never tolerate such indiscipline and high-handed behaviour. Whoever is involved will have to face legal consequences for assaulting an on-duty police constable," the minister said.
