Union Home Minister Amit Shah offered prayers at the famous Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu & Kashmir on the occasion of Maha Navami.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday offered prayers at the famous Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu & Kashmir on the occasion of Maha Navami.
Accompanied by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Union Minister Jitendra Singh, Shah visited the temple atop Trikuta hills in Katra in Reasi district.
The Home Minister, who is a three-day visit of the union territory, arrived at the Sanji Chhat by helicopter to pay his obeisance at the shrine.
He was received by senior officers of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) and prominent religious leaders.

— ANI (@ANI) 1664860480000This is the second visit by Amit Shah to Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370 by the Modi government in August 2019. It's his first visit to the holy cave shrine.
"Wishing everyone a very happy Mahanavami. May Maa Bhagwati shower her grace and blessings on everyone. Jai Mata Di!," the home minister tweeted.
Amit Shah is scheduled to later address a public meeting at Rajouri, which is around one-and-half hours away from the Vaishno Devi temple. He will further launch development projects and also lay foundation stones for various projects at Convention Centre in Jammu.
He will also inspect various developmental projects here before heading to the Kashmir valley. Later in the evening, the Home Minister will hold a number of crucial meetings including the ones regarding the security situation in the region.
