Imagine stepping out to get your car, only to find it standing on bricks, all four tyres missing. That’s exactly what happened to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Avadh Ojha in Delhi’s Patparganj area. And no, this wasn’t some deserted lane—it happened right on a busy street, in broad daylight!

Ojha, who recently contested the Delhi Assembly elections and lost to BJP’s Ravinder Singh Negi, is heard saying in a video on social media, "How can this happen in the national capital in broad daylight?" His frustration was evident as he showed his stripped-down vehicle.

The video quickly went viral on X, sparking reactions from people across the country. Many expressed disbelief at how bold thieves had become, while others slammed the BJP-led government, questioning Delhi’s law and order situation.

A growing problem?

Car tyre thefts aren’t new to Delhi, but the fact that even a political leader wasn’t spared raises concerns. If such incidents can happen in broad daylight in a high-traffic area, what does it say about public security?

Ojha accused the ruling party of failing to control crime and claimed that incidents like these highlight the growing insecurity in the city.

Social media reacts

Netizens didn’t hold back. Some were shocked at the sheer audacity of the crime, while others joked about how even politicians aren’t safe from Delhi’s infamous tyre thieves. But amid the humour, a serious concern loomed—if a public figure’s vehicle isn’t safe, what about the common citizen?

While the police have been informed, the bigger question remains—will security improve, or will Delhi continue to be a hotspot for such bold crimes? For now, Ojha’s stolen tyres have become a talking point, but whether they will lead to stricter measures is something only time will tell.
