A Bengaluru software engineer, Chitransh Anand, landed a high-paying job at Uber, with an annual package of Rs 60 lakh after discovering Uber’s job listing through forums like LeetCode and Levels.fyi.

After seven months of intensive preparation, Anand successfully navigated Uber’s demanding interview process, which consisted of four rounds—two of which he found especially challenging. His hard work paid off when he landed the role, bringing immense pride to his family, particularly his mother. Now, as he prepares to join Uber with a more flexible schedule, Anand is embracing this milestone with excitement and gratitude.

How did he prepare?

Anand frequently visited platforms such as LeetCode and Levels.fyi, where he found Uber’s job listing. Committed to the opportunity, he devoted seven months to preparation, often pulling all-nighters to ready himself for the challenging interview process. The interviews consisted of four rounds, two of which he described as especially tricky. "The questions were beyond the scope of what I had previously studied, but I managed to crack it," Anand told Moneycontrol.

Anand’s dedication has made his family extremely proud, especially his mother, who lives with him in Bengaluru. Having seen his late-night study sessions firsthand, she expressed her happiness upon hearing of his success. “My mom is very happy; she saw the late nights and knows how hard I worked,” he shared. His parents have also encouraged him to focus on his health after months of intense preparation.

Anand's career journey:

Originally from Mughalsarai, near Varanasi, Anand relocated to Bengaluru in 2022 after landing a position at Oracle. He valued the healthy work-life balance there, with only three days required in the office each week. Now, as he prepares to join Uber, he looks forward to an even more flexible schedule, working from the office just two days a week.

To ensure his new role wouldn’t demand long hours, Anand actively consulted company discussion boards and spoke with his future manager. “At this stage of my career, I’m focused on seizing opportunities, and I can find a better work-life balance later on,” he remarked.
