Vivek Agnihotri, director of The Kashmir Files, on Friday posted a video of his morning stroll through the city. He was accompanied by his Y-category security detail, which he said has happened due to his decision to create the film depicting the murderous attack on Kashmiri Pandits in the valley.

Vivek released a video on Twitter with the description: "The price one has to pay to show the Genocide of Hindus in Kashmir. In a Hindu majority country.
Freedom of expression, ha!"

He also used the hashtags Imprisoned in own nation and Fatwa. The filmmaker was spotted walking about in a black tracksuit, flanked by a crew of security guards.

The video, however, elicited conflicting reviews on the microblogging site. One person commented, "Oh, my tax money!" while another said, "What a waste of taxpayer's money!"

A third person stated, "Humare tax ke paise se security le rahe hain, apni movie tax-free karke," while some alleged that the filmmaker was "showing off" his security protection.

The film has become one of the most profitable Bollywood films of the year, grossing Rs 340 crore globally. Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumar, Bhasha Sumbli and Chinmay Mandlekar are among the cast.
