Vishwakarma Puja 2022: Lord Vishwakarma Jayanti Tithi, significance, and puja muhurat
Vishwakarma puja or Vishwakarma Jayanti is celebrated each year to pay respects to Hindu god of architecture - Lord Vishwakarma.

Lord Vishwakarma is also known as Biswakarma in many parts of India. His Jyayanti is widely celebrated in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, Tripura, West Bengal, Odisha, and Karnataka. This year the festival will be celebrated on September 17, 2022, which is also the last day of the Bengali month Bhadra, which is also known as Kanya Sankranti.
There is a reference to Lord Vishwakarma in the Rig Veda, which is considered as the oldest sacred text in the world by many. Vishwakarma is revered and celebrated as the main god of engineers and architects or those who are involved in the field of construction.
According to legends, Lord Vishwakarma built Ravana's Lanka, Shri Krishna's Dwarika and also constructed the world-famous Jagannath temple in Puri, Odisha.

The Puja Muhurat is at 7:36 AM on September 17. On this day, people install the clay idols of Lord Vishwakarma in pandals in the workplace such as factories, offices and other commercial establishments.
Mantras are chanted and people offer flowers to idols and seek deity's blessings to keep them safe from any untoward incidents at their workplace.
