The video was shared by Instagram user Kristina Makushenko from the US, who identifies herself as a four-time world champion in synchronised swimming.
In the video, Makushenko can be seen in a swimming pool, upside down, wearing heels like a professional model. She takes five measured steps, muscles moving gracefully as if she were walking, her heels barely rippling the surface of the water. After the fifth step she does a semi flip, picks up what appears to be a handbag clutch from the bottom of the pool, and continues her walk, this time heels on the bottom of the pool, legs and arms moving exactly as if it was a mirror image of his earlier walk.
"The Devil Wears Prada. You can also ROTATE your phone for a better angle," Makushenko captioned her video.
The video has 1.8 million views, and rising, on Instagram. People who saw it were amazed.
"How is there zero movement of the water when you move your arms and legs? That’s quite incredible," wondered a user.
"You're a mermaid, aren't you," asked another. "The upside-down walk was soo cool!!" said a third user.
