Viral video: Woman, children jump from balcony as fire erupts in Ahmedabad high-rise; dramatic rescue caught on camera

A fire broke out on the seventh floor of a residential building in Ahmedabad's Parishkar Apartments on Friday afternoon, triggering panic among residents. Firefighters rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control. As per reports, no casualties were reported.

Locals rescue woman and two children from fourth floor

Visuals from the incident showed a tense moment around 4 p.m. when a woman and two children were rescued by residents from the fourth floor of the building. In the video, thick smoke surrounds the upper floors as the woman is seen dangling one of the children in the air.

As she cried for help, a group of people standing on the third-floor balcony caught the child mid-air. A second child was rescued the same way. After that, the woman let go, and the locals managed to catch her safely as well.

Fire caused by short circuit, 18 people rescued

The fire was traced to a short circuit in the electric duct of Block C in the building. Seven fire engines responded to the call and managed to control the fire before it could spread further. According to officials, 18 residents were rescued from the building.

Some residents were seen trying to escape through their balconies, while others called for help from their windows as the fire spread.

Authorities confirm no casualties

Authorities confirmed that there were no injuries or deaths in the incident. The firefighting team acted swiftly and managed to evacuate all those trapped. Rescue efforts by local residents also helped prevent any harm during the incident.
