Viral video shows techie in SUV blows kisses at woman sitting in car in Noida, trails her; internet says 'something about Delhi and NCR region isn’t right'

Noida Police has arrested two IT engineers for allegedly harassing a woman with obscene gestures from their car. The arrests were made after a video showed them harassing the woman went viral on social media, according to police. In the viral video, one of the men can be seen blowing flying kisses at a woman sitting in another car and following her vehicle. Another man who is seated behind is seen smiling at the woman. The incident happened in Sector 24, Noida. Police said the incident occurred late at night when the victim was travelling with her family in a car. The accused persistently followed the victim's vehicle and engaging in indecent behavior, the video shows.

What does the video show?

In the video, a red car carrying two men can be seen following the woman near a traffic signal. The accused allegedly rolled down the car window and made obscene gestures toward the woman, the video shows, causing her distress and fear. Despite efforts to avoid them, the accused continued their indecent behaviour for some time. The woman and her family raised an alarm and later lodged a complaint with the police. She also shared details of the incident on social media, tagging the police and senior officials, which brought swift attention to the case. Acting quickly, the police traced the vehicle using its registration number and CCTV footage from nearby areas.

These entitled clowns think roads are their playground time for @noidapolice to teach them real consequences. Zero tolerance for this garbage,” a post shared by X reads.

Accused identified and arrested

Police identified the accused as Amit Kumar, a resident of Azamgarh district in Uttar Pradesh, and Abhishek, who hails from Mainpuri district. Both live in rented accomodation in Noida. The police arrested both men and seized the car used in the incident. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the BNS related to obscene acts and harassment of women. Senior police officials stated that strict action would be taken to ensure such behavior is not tolerated.

Responding to the post, the Noida police shared photographs of the arrested accused. In a reply, the Police Commissionerate, Gautam Buddh Nagar. wrote, “A case has been registered in connection with the referenced incident. Two accused individuals have been arrested, the car used in the incident has been taken into police custody, and further legal action is being pursued.”

Social media reacts

The video sparked outrage over public decency. A user commented, “Noida Police has caught these guys, and I hope they’ve been given proper treatment so they never do this again. It’s simple in U.P nowadays: you can get an education in school, or you can get an education in a police station. The choice is yours.”

Another user wrote, “Wonder why these guys r doing this knowing very well that its not good and neither they will be spared.”

A third user reacted, saying, “Something about Delhi and NCR region isn’t right. These incidents are becoming way too common. I think every road can’t be policed. Parents of such kids should also take some responsibility.”
