In the clip, the passenger explains, “Mai isko 50 rupye diya bola Kandivali return dene, bhai bole chutta nai hai jabki waha pr pura 20-20 ka notes h.” (I gave him ₹50 and asked for a Kandivali return ticket, but he said there was no change, even though there were plenty of ₹20 notes in the box)
When the passenger demanded his change, the officer responded with a dismissive, “Side me hato,” (Step aside) and threatened to call the Railway Protection Force (RPF). Unwilling to leave without his money, the passenger continued to press for change.
Escalation of the Situation
The situation escalated when another person suggested the passenger use a digital scanner for payment. The passenger, however, refused, saying, “Ni h mere paas scanner” (No, I don’t have a scanner). The video’s caption reads, “Kalesh b/w a passenger and the railway’s CCTC officer over not giving change, despite him having the money.”Public Reactions
The video quickly gained traction on social media, with many viewers criticizing the CCTC officer for refusing to give change despite having sufficient notes. Some users expressed frustration with the officer’s refusal to serve the passenger properly. One comment read, “The soul of the nation has perished,” while another stated, “Yhi nautanki krte h so that passenger chute k chakar m ense paise liye bina chla jaye” (They do this drama so that the passenger leaves without getting his change).The incident has sparked debates about the challenges passengers and railway staff face when dealing with small change at railway stations.
