Viral video: German shepard owner argues with guard, woman after being refused to use the lift
A viral video on Twitter has brought attention to the issue of pet dogs in housing societies. The video shows a man arguing with a building guard and a woman after he was stopped from taking the lift because a scared child refused to come out. The...

In the video, a young man with a German shepherd can be seen arguing with the building guard and a woman.
From their conversation, it was revealed that the man could not enter a lift as a frightened kid in the lift refused to come out after seeing the dog.
Initially, the guard can be seen asking the dog owner not to enter the lift and allowing the kid to come out first.
Following this, the man can be seen arguing with the guard.
Then a lady, who filmed the video, asks the dog owner to let the kid take the lift so he can take a different lift.
But the dog owner keeps arguing that if the kid is afraid, he should take another lift.
After hearing this, the lady reminds him that the kid is already in the video and he was the first to get into that lift, so he should be allowed to use the first. She also tells him that if someone is afraid of the dog, the owner must not use the lift.
The video has gone viral on X (formerly known as Twitter), with almost 6 lakh views.
Slamming the dog owner, one commentator wrote, "I too have a dog. The moment I see people fearing—even though I'm in the lift before them—I come out, saying, Aap, jao, I will come in the next lift. Make people comfortable with your behavior. These kids have no manners."
"People with dogs feel entitled and want the entire world to accept their pet. It's an animal; no matter how domesticated, it still is an animal," commented another.
Another Twitter user opined: "The biggest problem is the woke morality that treats a dog parent = a human parent & a dog = child! West has developed this due to lack of socialisation & lonliness but there is no reason that shd be copied in India as there are firm laws to ensure that the dog parent takes all responsibility of a dog unlike India. If similar laws are enforced here, all this facade of dog parenting will fall at once."
There have been several pet dog biting cases in the past, following which many housing societies in the Delhi NCR region have issued rules such as using muzzles while taking dogs for walks.
