In a tragic incident, an engineer named Vikas Negi, 36, collapsed and succumbed to a heart attack while playing cricket in Noida. A distressing video captured the moment when Negi, in the midst of a run, suddenly collapsed on the pitch. The wicketkeeper and other players rushed to his aid, but despite their efforts, the engineer could not be revived.

Following the collapse, Vikas Negi was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital, where, regrettably, he was declared dead upon arrival by the attending doctor. The police then took custody of his body for a post-mortem examination, with initial reports from doctors pointing to a heart attack as the cause of his untimely demise.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Vikas Negi had previously battled Covid but was considered healthy. In an effort to maintain his fitness, he regularly engaged in cricket matches in Noida and Delhi. The incident sheds light on the alarming increase in heart-related issues among young individuals in recent years.

The prevalence of heart disease has surged in India over the past five years, with a notable rise in cases among youngsters. Our fast-paced lifestyle and changing habits are often attributed to this concerning trend. Previously, heart attacks were commonly associated with older individuals, but now individuals between the ages of 30 and 40 are increasingly affected by cardiac issues. This tragic event serves as a somber reminder of the importance of monitoring our heart health and underscores the need for awareness and preventive measures in the face of this growing health concern.

Quoting a doctor involved in the case, "Heart attacks among the youth are on the rise, and it's crucial for individuals to be mindful of their heart health through regular check-ups and a healthy lifestyle." This incident emphasizes the need for increased awareness and proactive steps to address the growing prevalence of heart-related ailments among the younger population.
