Violent clash over milk dues claims three lives in Patna

In a tragic incident, Patna witnessed a violent clash between two groups over unpaid milk dues that resulted in the loss of three lives, with another individual sustaining critical injuries. The incident unfolded late Thursday night in the Surgapar locality, falling under the jurisdiction of the Fatuha police station.

The injured individual, Mintu Kumar (22), is currently undergoing treatment at Nalanda Medical College and Hospital, with his condition described as critical. The victims of this unfortunate clash have been identified as Pradeep Kumar (35), Sailesh Kumar (40), and Jay Singh (50).

The violent clash originated from a disagreement regarding unpaid milk payments between the two factions. Tensions escalated when one group went to the other's residence, requesting settlement of the outstanding milk dues. This disagreement rapidly intensified, resulting in a heated argument that eventually erupted into gunfire.


Patna's Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Rajiv Mishra, revealed, "There was a dispute between two groups over some milk dues. One group reached the house of another group and demanded the money. This led to a quarrel between them and suddenly firing started."

According to DSP Fatuha Siyaram Yadav, Jay Singh was leading one of the groups, while Pradeep Kumar was heading the other.

Following the tragic incident, a large number of local residents gathered at the scene to protest against the violence. They also staged a road blockade that continued into the early hours of Friday.

In response to the situation, Patna police have deployed a substantial number of personnel to restore order and control the situation.
