Vindu Dara Singh recalls Dara Singh's warning before marriage

Speaking about the time he informed his father about his decision to marry Farah Naaz, Vindu said Dara Singh urged him to think carefully.

“We are among those people who believe that Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, everyone is a brother. That was always my father’s saying. He told me, ‘Vindu, there is one more thing. Hindu-Muslim marriages are very hard.”

According to Vindu, his father tried to make him reconsider before taking the big step.

“When I told him I wanted to marry Farah, he said, ‘It is very hard, Vindu. In the end, things often go wrong.’ I told him, ‘Dad, nothing will go wrong.’ He said, ‘Think carefully. These things become difficult in the end.'”

‘She became very religious’

When asked whether religion contributed to the end of his marriage, Vindu Dara Singh gave a direct answer.

“Absolutely. Religion was completely normal between us. But suddenly she became very religious. We never had that highly religious system between us. So when suddenly you become very religious, complications happen. That is, according to me, the main reason.”

Vindu Dara Singh and wife Farah Naaz's marriage

Vindu Dara Singh's wife Farah Naaz, who is also actress Tabu's sister, married the actor in the 1990s. The couple welcomed their son, Fateh, in 1996. However, their marriage ended in divorce in 2002.

Despite the separation, Vindu says he has no regrets.

“I don’t regret it because I have Fateh, a fantastic son whom I love more than my life. But that was right.”

Looking back, the actor said children often fail to understand the value of their parents' advice until later in life. “Always remember that parents give us advice, but we don’t listen. We think, ‘What do they know?’ But they know more than us. They have more experience and they are your Gods.”
