A portrait gifted to Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has sparked a social media meme fest. Users are comparing the artwork to the famous 'Majnu Bhai painting' from the movie 'Welcome'. The sketch, featuring exaggerated features of the Chief ...

The portrait was presented by Sanjeev Shrivastav during a meeting with the newly appointed chief minister on Monday. Shrivastav also gifted several other items to Chaudhary and later shared photographs from the meeting on his social media account.
However, it was the hand-drawn black-and-white portrait that quickly drew widespread attention online. The sketch portrayed Chaudhary with exaggerated facial features, including unusually wide eyes, thick eyelashes, a heavy beard and enlarged ears, giving it a caricature-like appearance.
Within hours, screenshots of the artwork began circulating across X and Instagram, where meme pages and users reacted with humour and sarcasm.
One user wrote, “Never seen a sketch so close to reality.” Another sarcastically posted, “This year’s Bharat Ratna for best sketch artist goes to Sanjeev Shrivastav.”
A separate user referred to Shrivastav as the “Picasso of Bihar”, while another viral comment read, “Legendary artist Sanjeev Srivastava who drew Bihar CM’s portrait has claimed he will draw PM’s portrait too if fuel prices are not reduced by tomorrow morning.”
The Indian Youth Congress also joined the online reactions by sharing a zoomed-in image of the portrait on X with the caption, “Guess who?”
Several users compared the artwork to the fictional “Majnu Bhai painting” from “Welcome”. One user wrote, “Majnu Bhai would be proud.”
Another comment read, “When one has such an extraordinary talent within themselves, it should be kept hidden; it shouldn't be displayed so openly.”
A different user remarked, “Looks like the artist gave the CM a demo version of the painting.”
The portrait continues to circulate widely online, attracting mixed reactions ranging from amusement and satire to criticism over the quality of the artwork.
