Ekadashi tithi starts on February 16 at 5:32 a.m. and ends at 2:49 a.m. on February 17.

He performed a yagna (a Hindu fire ritual) and sought Lord Vishnu's blessings, who appeared before him and told him that his daughter would marry whoever came to his palace gate on Vijaya Ekadashi. Lord Rama, the prince of Mithila, arrived at the palace gate on Vijaya Ekadashi and married King Chitraratha's daughter. As a result, Vijaya Ekadashi is considered a victory day and is celebrated to commemorate Lord Rama's victory over evil.
