Video: UP man complains about potholes; behind him an accident

He was talking about the frequent accidents incurred by e-rickshaws at that spot when the accident happened

It almost looked like a live demo of what he was complaining about.

A man in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia, identified in some reports as Pravir Kumar, was talking to a reporter on camera about the pitiful state of the roads in his neighbourhood, when right behind him, in frame, an e-rickshaw full of people hit a pothole and flipped

Ironically, he was talking about the frequent accidents incurred by e-rickshaws at that spot when the accident happened. He was saying that despite many requests the road remained that way for over four years.

The video was tweeted by a journalist with the caption, "In UP's Ballia, a reporter was talking to a commuter over poor quality of roads ridden with potholes. The commuter was explaining how accidents and E-rickshaws overturning is very frequent phenomenon. What happened at the end is something youpitiful should watch for yourself."

Piyush Rai subsequently tweeted another video showing onlookers rushing to set the e-rickshaw right and pull out the injured passengers. A woman and an elderly man were seen coming out

With the recent unseasonal heavy rains in many parts of the country, there are complaints about potholed roads coming in from states like Kerala in the south to UP in the north. With authorities unmoved, many of these complaint and protest videos make it online.
